I was born and raised in the Netherlands. I spent a lot of the first six years of my life in the hospital. I knew at a very young age that I was responsible for my health and because of that experience I have always been drawn to natural solutions to health care.
I moved to the U.S. in 1978. Having dealt with a personal autoimmune condition and not finding answers through conventional medicine made me focus on functional medicine and am happy to report that this condition is in remission using natural medicine.

The practice of chiropractic is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of physical conditions in patients with muscular, nervous and skeletal problems, especially the spine. Chiropractic is best known for its ability to correct spinal misalignments which are called subluxations. Spinal manipulation is only a small part of what chiropractors do as part of an overall plan to manage and relieve pain.
Flexion/Distraction therapy utilizes a specialized table which allows the trunk and lower spine to be moved into positions, which allow for maximum benefit from treatment. This treatment does not utilize any manipulative thrust associated with a traditional adjustment. It is considered a low force technique appropriate for any age.
